Welcome to Inspire 2010
Over 450 leaders from around our conference joined together for equipping, teaching, worshiping and inspiration at Inspire 2010, 25-28 March. “The response to the weekend has been extremely encouraging – it was great to see workshops full of people eager to sharpen their ministry gifts and skills.” comments Pr Michael Worker who leads the Inspire planning team.
The theme for this year’s weekend was ‘Growing in Discipleship’. The keynote speakers for the weekend, Pr David McKibben, Pr Eddie Tupai and Pr Jorge Munoz worked well together in painting a picture of what discipleship is and how our churches can become disciple making environments. The 36 workshops focused on various aspects of discipleship including Small Groups with Johnny Wong, Spiritual Growth with Pr Colin Refrew, Self-leadership with Pr Graeme Christian and Kids in Discipleship with Julie Weslake.
The weekend also included time for praying together, inspiring worship, connecting with other leaders and for personal spiritual growth. Time was also made to work though and shape our Future Directions document for our conference (see page 8). Another highlight of the weekend was the children’s programmes where in the Silly Chilli (0-5), Crocodile Creek (6-9), Junior (10-13) and teen programmes children learnt about what it means to be a disciple.
If you could not make it to Inspire 2010 but would like to catch up on the Keynote addresses you can purchase DVD’s from the Adventist Book Centre.
